Danish Education "Center For Høretab" ~Field Survey version 3~

I can not believe that there's just one and half month left to stay In Denmark.
Is there any other ways that I can stay longer here....???
By the way, Last week I went to another educational institution in Denmark,
"Center For Høretab,Fredericiaskolen", in Fredericia
It took about a hour by train from Odense.
For what is the educational institution?
Is that school? or research center?

According to an officer working here, who is a Japanese woman and
has stayed in Denmark for 4 years, this is the center for children and adolescents
with hearing difficulties. Basically, This is special school for them managed by the state.
Here is to support them to live in society or community.
⭐️Organization of Center For Høretab⭐️
1. Administration Department
It is backbone of an organization.
He or she is the link between an organization's various departments and
ensures the smooth flow of information from one part to the other.
Also, they try to connect with visiters or people from other coutries.
2. Elementary and secondary school
(1-9th grades according to Danish educational system)
In total, students are 38 people, for sure that they can access to this education for free.
Thankfully, I visited at 6 and 9 grades classes on the day.
Class is from 8:15-10:00 and take a break for half a hour, starts from 10:30- again.
During the break, they usually have bread and take a cup of coffee or tea.
As Educators, there are about 17 teachers, Paedagog* and
Sometimes experts, such as in language and pronunciation,
stop by class and help teachers.
*Paedagog
Employee with relevant education employeed in a day-care facility.
It means child and youth educator in Denmark.
It is no proper translation in other languages
because it is an unique and popular occupation in scandinavian coutries.
They support and improve life education for children through conversation.
In Denmark, every public school has Paedagog to support them
but also in kindergarten, facility for physically hadicapped or aging people,
and at hospital etc.
3. STU and FVU
STU is an unique educational system in Denmark,
for young people up to the age of 25 years olds.
STU is a three-year youth education programme for young people with special needs that prevent them from completing other types of youth
education. This may be the case if a young person is intellectually challenged and/or has a physical or mental disability. The aim is to promote the young person’s personal development and improve their chances of living an independent and active life.Reference: The Danish Education System

FVU is one of adult education system in Denmark,
"Preparatory education for adults" since 2001.
FVU provides courses in basic reading, writing, and mathematics. The purpose of FVU is to meet students’ individual needs to enhance their basic skills, and FVU courses can be combined with courses in any of the other programmes.

It is to promote people who need help to live in independent and active life.
4. Accommdations
It is where students can stay, sometimes for visitors.
However, most of students commute from other cities every day.
One boy whom I met in 6th grade class, he takes about two hours by car to commute
to this school every single day!!!
(It is exact same hours as I used to take by train to university in Japan...)
5. Specialists
There are various specialists, such as psychologist, physiotherapist, Speech Pathology
and occupational therapist so on, as advisers.
Futhermore, some specialists who can fix hearing aids if not work well.
They are fundamental parts of individual education for students who qualify
for special education services.
By the way, Have you ever heard the term "Individual Education"?
It is a new concept in schooling in these days.
An Individual Education school directs but does not demand, leads but does not drive, persuades but doesn't force, suggests but does not require.
Today, I just introduced the crucial framework of this center
but this is very special educationl center in Denmark as I mentioned above.
Likewise the concept of here is totally different from where I have visited so far.

先日、"Center For Høretab"という教育機関へ訪問してきました！
オーデンセから、電車で1時間くらいの場所にあります。
*オーデンセは真ん中の島に位置してます
ここは一体どういう教育機関なのか？
そもそも、学校といっていいのか？
いやいやセンターと名乗っているので
何か研究機関やら何かなのか･･･
そんな疑問を持ちながら訪問してきました
ここは、デンマーク政府100％の協力による、
難聴者や中途失聴者の子供達が通う学校でもあり、
彼/彼女達が助けを求める限り、
社会へ繰り出すためのサポートを行ったりする機関です！
⭐️組織図⭐️
1. 管理部門
このセンターのパイプ役。財政的なことから運営に関する、
様々なことを管理していて、他の国からの視察やお客さんも
ここから繋いでいるそうです。
2．小中学校（1-9学年：デンマークの教育制度より）
全校生徒が38人と少ないようにも感じますが･･･
8:15ｰ10:00まで学び、30分のヒュッゲタイム（パンやコーヒーと一緒に休憩）
そして10時半からまだ学習タイム開始！
ここでは、先生以外にも、「ペタゴー*」、そして言語や発音のエキスパートが
たまにクラスに顔を出し、なにやら様々なスペシャリストが一丸となって
生徒達と向き合っていました。

*ペタゴー
コミュニケーションを通して、子供たちの生活教育や支援をしていく教育者
北欧で大変主流の職業だそうで、以下の記事で日本人がペタゴーとして
長年デンマークで働いている人のインタビューがあったので一部紹介。
ー10年前にデンマークのエグモントホイスコーレン校に留学し、その後デンマークでの結婚、出産、離婚を経ながら、ペタゴーになった祐子さん。ペタゴーとはどういう職業ですか？
学校にいるペタゴーを例にあげると、学校で先生は教科などの知識面を主に教えますが、それに対してペタゴーは、子供たちのパーソナリティや、子供たちが人として成長していくのをどう後押ししていくかを考える仕事です。
例えば授業中、先生は「子供たちにどうしたら（授業内容や知識が）よく伝わるかな」ということを考えて教科を教えます。でもペタゴーの視点からすると、この子はどの学びのスタイルが適しているのかな、座って聞いて学ぶのが適しているのか、外で身体を使って学ぶことが適しているのかなって考えて、その子の学びを促進してあげられるように授業を見るのがペタゴーの役割です。

ペタゴーは、日本語に訳すのが難しくて、ソーシャルワーカーとも
また違った概念を持っているらしいのです。
将来、ペタゴーとして「個性を生かした教育」に携わるのも
悪くないなあ･･･と最近密かに新たな夢を持ち始めました･･･
3．STU・FVU
STUとは･･･
デンマークで２００７年から始まった独自の教育制度で、16歳から25歳までの障害のある青年が最長で３年間教育を受けることができる。
デンマークの義務教育（10年間）終了後の青少年教育は大きく分けて、高等学校（普通高等学校、商業学校、工業学校）と職業専門学校などがあり、８割程度の生徒はそのどちらかに進学する。これまで進学できない生徒たちは公営のデイサービスを利用したり、作業所で働いていたが、ＳＴＵ制度ができて、教育が受けられるようになった。
ＳＴＵは「すべての若者が教育を受けて、労働に参画する」ことを目指すという。

すごく新しい教育制度なんだね･･･この教育機関の視察ではじめて知りました。
教育スペシャリストになるにはまだまだ道のりが長いです･･･
このセンターは、100％国の予算で成り立っているのだが、
市によって運営されているSTUが、この同じ施設内にありました。
（運営ははっきりと分かれていて、市によるSTUも見てみたかったのですが、
今回訪問を許可してくれたのが、国の運営部だったのでダメでした･･･）
一方、FVUとは･･･
予備成人教育(FVU)とは、2001年成人教育改革で生まれたプログラムであり、成人を対象とし，基礎的な文字の読み書きと計算の能力を向上させるプログラムである。

社会との関わりの中で、問題があり助けが必要な人のために学ぶ場所
だと思ってくれたらいいのかな〜
ここで余談、、、
デンマークが好きな理由がここにもあるのだが、
「誰1人も取り残さない社会」を作ろうとする姿勢が教育だけではなく、
デンマーク人と話していても強く感じられる。
彼らとのコミュニケーションはなぜか凄く気持ちがいい。
私を1人の人間として見てくれて、誰とも比較せず、
差別的な目が感じられないからなのかな。。。
4. 宿泊施設
学生だけでなくお客さんが泊まったりする施設が学校のすぐ横にあります。
（写真撮ってくるの忘れた。早朝から施設見学をし、お昼抜きで5時間以上も
しゃべり倒していたため、お腹減っててそれどころじゃなかったのもある。
可愛いドラゴンが廊下でお出迎えしてくれたのでそれを代わりに･･･↓）
5. 専門家部門
心理・言語療法士など、様々な専門家がアドバイザーとして働いている。
このセンターだけではなく、他の施設へも出張しにいくことがある。
1人1人違う「個性」を持っているからこそ、
それに合わせてどう教えていくべきかなどのアドバイスやサポートを行っている。
彼らは個別教育を支える重要な人達でもあるのです！
ちなみに最近、世界では個別教育が新しいトピックでもあり、
日本でも注目されつつあるのです。
個別教育計画(Individualized Education Program (IEP))とは?
お子さんが特殊教育やその関連サービスを受ける場合、個別教育計画(IEP)を立てる必要があります。IEP は子供のそれぞれの
能力とニーズに対応し、一般の授業科目をどのように受けることができるかを説明するものです。IEPには、子供の学習方法や、学
習したことをどうすれば最大限に活用できるか、また、より効果的に学習できるよう、教師やサービス提供者がどのように支援でき
るかについて説明されます。保護者も、お子さんのIEPチームの大事な一員です。保護者と、子供の担当教師、他の教職員が協力
して、その子供のIEPを作成し、これは年に1度、見直されます。
さて、今日はCenter For Høretabの概要について紹介しました。
だけど今まで訪問してきた教育機関とはまた違った色を持ち、
すごく興味深かったので、１つ１つ丁寧に説明してきました。
それも、それぞれを掘り下げていくと
私の新たな「教育」への気づきにもつながりました。
「個性を伸ばす教育」の実現にはみんなの理解と協力が必要です！
